Terms of Service for ReadRise

1. Acceptance of Terms

By installing and using the ReadRise Google Sheets™ add-on ("Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not install or use the Service.

2. License and Usage

• Free Use License: SmartClassScripts grants you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, limited license to install and use the Service for educational and professional purposes at no cost.

• No Commercial Distribution: While you may use the tool freely within your classroom or school, you may not repackage, resell, or distribute the add-on code or its generated templates for commercial gain without express written permission.

3. User Responsibilities

• Student Privacy: You are solely responsible for ensuring that your use of this tool complies with all applicable student data privacy laws (such as FERPA in the US). You acknowledge that you are the data controller for all student data entered into the Google Sheet™ and that ReadRise does not view or store this data.

• Data Management: You are responsible for the management, backup, and retention of your Google Sheets™ data.

4. Intellectual Property

The Service, including its scripts, code structure, and "Sidebar" design, is the property of SmartClassScripts and is protected by copyright laws. You may not reverse engineer, decompile, or modify the add-on script source code.

5. Termination & Discontinuation

• Right to Discontinue: We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue the Service (or any part thereof) at any time with or without notice.

• Termination of Use: We reserve the right to block usage of the Service if we detect abuse, violation of these Terms, or activity that threatens the security or functionality of the Service.

6. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Service is provided on an "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" basis. We do not warrant that the Service will meet your specific requirements, be uninterrupted, or be error-free. We explicitly disclaim any warranties of fitness for a particular purpose.

7. Limitation of Liability

In no event shall SmartClassScripts be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages (including, but not limited to, loss of data, loss of profits, or business interruption) arising out of your use or inability to use the Service, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.

8. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by the laws of the applicable state.
